A Ghost Of A Chance

So EA have released a giant (in their terms) patch for Sims 4, and the gullible are wetting themselves with excitement over the reintroduction of….

a ghost of a chance

… ghosts.

Like, big wow.

Yes, these one’s can repair broken objects when they possess them and have a bit more special powers to them depending on death type, but ultimately it’s the same old ghosts.

There’s more:

Star Wars outfits?

Like, a three decade old franchise and ten years since anyone outside of those mouthbreathers who live off a diet of Doritos cared less about it – let alone your average child or teen which is your target market Simgurus (in case you’ve forgotten)?

Oh we’re sure that Rachel Franklin, Grant Rodiek and Graham Nardone think it’s ‘kewl’, but these are the people that had women in flat caps.

We take it that the licence from Disney was cheap? Perhaps that ought to have been a hint of the appeal. What next, Grease themed downloads?  Or how about The Cannonball Run… whoops, not much point there with no cars, is there!

But with the dropping of these merest morsals from the Simgurus’ table along with a few new extra eye colours, it’s back to clappahandies and squeal with glee time from those still desperately trying to salvage precious crumbs of comfort for their waste of money.

There was one change made in the patch that came as a relief:

Yes, doubtless the paedophile apologist element on the EA forum will be gnashing their teeth and looking for mods as we speak to return their ‘creative freedom’, but the removal of that Lolita moodlet is a relief – although had they bothered to properly bug test it, this would never have happened in the first place.

But then that’s what Sims 4 customers are there to do, aren’t they?

Coming up next, swimming pools, toddlers, and everything else they’ve missed out apart from an open world. You never know, you may just have a passable base game in five years time.
