Rum-Tiddly-Um, Pom-Pom-Pom-Pom, Can’t Stick It In Your EA Forum My Page Album! (How EA Continues To Steal Your Simpoints)

Imagine this old chestnut coming up almost a year later!

Hit it, Dreamerboy6 and Marcel21.

Is what they are saying true?

Ah, but being up is one thing? Can you actually still buy any My Page items that you cannot even use?

We’ll tell you better than that – you can still buy ones you have already bought or given to others almost a year since we flagged this one up!

But in order to prove this, once again we need the help of an unwilling volunteer, who this time we will not dress in a Little Red Riding Hood outfit.

Now, some of you may notice at once a difference between Cloverstardropper’s page from last year compared to this year:

Yep, they’ve permabanned her – despite not making a single post on the EA forum for over TWO YEARS!

It seems that in a fit of childish spite after we called them out last year over this, they’ve went back to her account and reapplied the very permaban they’d rescinded in 2010 after she’d fallen victim to a series of malicious reports from SimCrazed32 and others (and, granted, for calling the Simgurus ‘drunken loonies’ for moving a General Discussion thread into Create A World despite not having a single post mentioning world creation or anything remotely connected in it!)

But let’s get back to our experiment.

So what My Page gift should we give Switch?

The busted tomato we’ve already given to her twice before?

ea still selling stickers people can't use5

No – after all this time, surely if they can update Cloverstardropper’s page to permaban her for excessive digital bust tomato hoarding, they will have updated her account to stop anyone else wasting any more 20 Simpoints buying her more?

A drumroll please whilst we push the ‘Submit’ button…

Once again, Bracknell’s Law applies.

bracknell's law

Or in this case, EA seeking deliberately to defraud consumers on their Sims 3 site online store by selling to them products that cannot be used for the purpose sold.

EA cannot claim they knew nothing about this: as well as us calling them out on it back on 28th February last year, they were also taken to task for it on the EA forum by SpiritedTruth and Chemical_Wibs amongst others shortly after.

Yet here we are at the start of 2013, and EA is still ‘selling’ on store items that people cannot use, almost a year after they themselves rendered them useless?

As Litabelaqua points out, they can’t even claim that they haven’t been attempting to actively promote their sale as they’ve had them in the Daily Deals to encourage people to buy what are useless items!

To add insult to injury, they are allowing people to buy items they already have or gift items already owned – in contrast to the other parts of the EA Store where it is impossible to do so.

They cannot claim the necessary changes cannot be made. Not can’t – won’t.

To be still doing this at all is an utter disgrace, to do so after Christmas when many children will have had Simpoints added to their accounts and may find themselves spending their virtual money on items they will only discover the hard way it is impossible to use and are not being refunded for it for it… that’s not a case of caveat emptor, that is downright fraudulent business practice selling goods that cannot be used for the purpose sold.

As Litabelaqua points out, they can’t even claim that they haven’t been attempting to actively promote their sale as they’ve had them in the Daily Deals to encourage people to buy them!

Yes Murfeel, and it is a rip-off that a year later is still ongoing.

Perhaps time the mainstream media were made aware that EA are gazumping those Simpoints Granny and Grandpa bought Little Johnny and Jenny for their Christmases?
