Yes, well we think it is safe to say that February at The Mare’s Nest could have been a lot better.
For one, both of us were freezing to death in our separate respective parts of the country. In the sort of weather only the British Isles can conjure up, the further north you were, the warmer it was, the further south, the colder, foggier, snowier, rainier, windier, downright bloody bumnuggety pain-in-the-arsier it was.
Which meant catching colds, catching other people’s colds when trying to get over the ones we had, and a never ending cocktail of vitamins from A to Z, cough medicines, decongestants… you get the picture.
For one of us, days were spent swallowing coffee to stay awake, getting through the day, going straight to bed after nothing but soup (which might as well have been soap for all their taste buds were telling them!), and hoping the next day it would be gone – for three weeks solid.
For the other, the recent hospital visit has reflared the pains with something of a vengence.
Here we are in the first day of March, and has the weather got any better? Has it hell!
In better news, we were amused to discover that a certain Kev Hopper had decided to partially use one of our screenshots for his You Tube site.
Fame at last!
