The Jumbrees Sail To The Land Where The March Violets Grow

Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumbrees live;
Their plumbobs are green, and their headers are blue,
And they went to see the forum like a Sieve.

There’s been a few weird events in the Sims world over the last year, but one we certainly didn’t expect to see was recent Boolprop Fight The Addiction False recruit BreeBree711 leading a full scale invasion of the Sims Forums she’d just given up on – and doing so from the EA Forum!

It all started when BreeBree711 and her friends on the EA forum began rubbing some people up the wrong way with ‘who would you marry from the forum’ and other such pass the time threads that got the usual element moaning and reporting them in the same fixated way they fap over /b/ pics.

Lolaland made a suggestion to jump before they were pushed.

BreeBree711 turned up at this point – and made a rather surprising suggestion.

Ten days earlier, she’d given up Sims Forum as a lost cause, and no one could have blamed her – the place leaking members like a sieve.

Even Cororon had joined another – although as luck would have it the one she chose was Snooty Sims, the malevolence of which at times was never likely to keep her there as any sort of a regular.

However, the one advantage SF had over BopFTAF was that in its current situation it was like a big empty island of glittering jewels (or at least an Arcade) waiting for some enterprising Viking horde to beach their longships and set about pillaging the land and ravishing the locals (if they found any of the locals ravishing to begin with that is – if not, there was always their livestock!). As we’d said back on 5th August, a ‘new’ active Sims Forums membership revolving around the new/newish members and the less cliquy of the old members was what’s been called for in order to turn its fortunes around – and what better than a bunch of people pissed off with the EA forum and looking for a new but not brand new abode, one that had some history and continuity to it.

All it needed was some enterprising person to gather the troops and make the launch to pastures new. Getting a crew together however was another matter, Mollymoo15 for one not being keen.

But MaxisMatt was first to jump into the invasion barge (well, they did intent to barge their way in after all!).

BreeBree711 tried to quell the jitters of the jitterbugs.

But Mollymoo15 couldn’t be convinced.

So BreeBree711 bade farewell to her and the EA forum hell.

In spite of all their friends could say,
On an EA board having another stormy day,
To the leaky Sieve forum, they went to see.
And as they set off exactly as planned.
Their friends cried ‘it’ll be the same, and we’ll be permabanned!’
BreeBree711 called, ‘The remaining Sievers can have a big fit,
But we don’t care a Boolprop, we don’t care a Figwit!
To Sims Forums, we’ll go and see!

And every one said, who saw them go,
‘O won’t they be soon upset, you know!
For Sims Forums is dark, the wait for a reply post is long,
And happen what may, it’s extremely wrong

to the Sieve to e-mail so fast.
A request for membership in a forum so vast!

Rayy13 made a suggestion – prompted in no way by vested interest (cough!)

Oh sure – and Academy Of Secret Simmers/HappehSauceSimmers have been a stunning advert for the virtues of chatboxes over posting in forums where it’s too easy for things to get overheated – as she should well know!

‘Go to a chat then! It’s so much easier for everyone to fall out with each other!’

Nope – ‘fraid the grown-ups prefer posting in forums. For one, it’s easier for the moderators to keep things under control, and to keep out the riff-raff.

Meanwhile, over on the Sims Forums, straaaaaange things were afoot, at hand, and at every other appendage you can think of, but let’s keep it clean since we are a family show.

BreeBree711 gave a declaration of intent for this not to be a fleeting acquaintance with SF.

Although she had to persuade MaxisMatt to give the place a chance that they’d only just arrived in!

The last thing they needed right now was an outbreak of TBM.

(ie. Typical Bloody Man!)

BreeBree711 linked a post to here – hopefully some of those there unfamiliar with this place will in due course have found the correct link to where the Sims Forums T-shirts and hoodies are as opposed to the link still posted up at SF despite us telling Matt months ago!

By the way, this is how the correct one reads:

https://themaresnest.wordpress.com/category/downloads/sims-forums/

Look who then turned up.

Yes Mollymoo15 had decided to give it a shot.

BReeBree711 helped them with setting up their avatars, signatures and all the rest of it, and Lolaland felt that the moment of all their arrivals needed an appropriate gesture.

Yes, they’re all getting together in a huge polygamous marriage that not even Sharkloverplayer dared dream of!

And all night long they mailed away;
And when the sun went down,
They whistled and warbled a Taffer song
To the echoing sound of a coppery gong,
In the shade of the Quote Mountain brown.
‘O AwesomeMod! How happy we are,
When we live in the Sieve and a crockery-jar,
And all night long in the moonlight pale,
We sail away from the EA forum’s FAIL!,
In the shade of the Quote Mountain brown!’

Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumbrees live;
Their plumbobs are green, and their headers are blue,
And they went to see the forum like a Sieve.

Finally, one of the March Violets, alerted to the sight of mass posting without a spambot in site, came out of hiding to bid greeting.

(Either that, or the prospect of invading EA barbarian hordes intending to ravish everyone in sight had him saying to the rest, ‘Look after the children, take them to where it is safe, I shall manfully go and take one for the team’, and whilst they were all tearfully sobbing how brave and noble was his sacrifice, he’d be running to the beach screaming ‘ME! ME! ME! ME!’ – this is SF we’re talking about you know!)

Ahmed was interrupted however by a strange revelation from Mollymoo15.

We shudder to think what other websites she could have been looking into as well as SF if her mum ordered her off the computer and made her take a shower! Come to think of it, maybe it was just SF considering some of the stuff they’ve come up with over the last year?

Hmmm, maybe Mollymoo15’s parents using the same parental controls that scream ‘this site is evil!’ as CloverStarDropper’s?

(Yes, it would be more appropriate to have said JulietteStein aka SimPESwami, but we think the March Violets would rather forget about her now! Besides, we’ve already explained where the source of evil at SF is).

Speaking of which (Bobert that is, not Switch!):

Maybe it was the Bobert effect in action, but Breebree711 and MaxisMatt then started getting, er, um…

Ewww, if you two want to go wubbing each other, please go and book a room rather than in public on the Sims Forums. Kids today!

Too late – already they were making themselves right at home and fully immersing themselves with the local culture of collossal pervery…

Right down to the responsorial ‘Oh Matron!’ from Mollymoo15.

We’ve always blamed it on that pervy ‘tongueing’ smiley ourselves…

We mean, seriously, of all the books in the world Breebree711 could have brought up into the conversation, and she just had to bring up this one!

You can guess the end result.

They sailed to the Off Topic section, they did,
Which was all covered with spambot trees,
And they gave a howl, ‘on what topic shall our talk start?’
It soon turned to vice – and each into a complete tart!
With one in the oven for the silvery BreeBree’s.

Meanwhile, back on the EA forum, their presence was missed.

Which was strange, when BreeBree711 had told them where they’d gone:

And was likely to be there for some time.

And in twenty Simming years they all came back,
In twenty Simming years or more,
And every one said, ‘How perved they’ve grown!
For they’ve been to the Quote Mountain, and the Off-Topic Zone,
And bathed in the Smexxy Radiator‘s warmth!’
And they drank their health, and gave them a feast
Of omelettes with cheese and Kool Aid at least.

By the look of things, Lolaland, MaxisMatt and Mollymoo15 are far from being the last ones to follow BreeBree511’s return.

Yes, Cooklez as well.

And every one said, ‘If we only live!
We too will go to see the Sieve!
To
bath in the Smexxy Radiator‘s warmth!’

Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumbrees live;
Their plumbobs are green, and their headers are blue,
And they went to see the forum like a Sieve.

And if we seem a little more flippant than usual tonight, it’s because the above is all going on slap bang on the anniversary of the following event last year.

It’s nice to be reminded that no matter how some unjustifiably shitty some people can be to others, that the EA forum isn’t the be-all and end all of the Simmers world and that there are still plenty of places out there where you can be yourself and be loved for it. If this also means that there’s now going to be a renaissance at the Sims Forums, then it’s a beautiful day all over as far as we’re concerned.

Consider yourself glomped, BreeBree711 for this!
