Or do you fire off a message expecting them to fix what you’re too feckless to do yourself?

This is the sort of bumnuggetry which causes even the most mild mannered Simmer to find their inner Kanamori Sayaka scaryteethness …

To be fair to the anonymous, they may be referring to the necessary CC link on Nilxis’ Dumblr, which is indeed dead (the downloads for the world itself are fine), but he does say in large shiny helpful letters:

‘FOR MORE PICTURES AND INFORMATION VISIT MY BLOG: CLICK HERE’ … where indeed the CC can be found right here, yes here, click on it, no really.

And just to prove we’ve checked the links ourselves …

Moral of the story: a little checking around and not expecting to be spoonfed helps.

World creators, like all custom content creators, aren’t plugged into the mains inbetween creating stuff for us.

They’ve real lives too (no, really, they do …) and asking them questions on availability because you’re too lazy to check all the links yourselves first is such poor form, you’d be a shoe-in for the next British rowing team at the next Olympics …

Sims Two’s Lazy Duchess Done More For Sims 3 Players This Year Than Lazy EA Simgurus

What a brilliant mod, and from a completely unexpected source!

Lazy Duchess is a Sims 2 modder, but she’s decided to try her hand on one for Sims 3 which does exactly what it says on the tin – makes the game’s logic threads run faster.

From what we’ve found, Build/Buy runs a whole lot faster (no ‘go away and make your dinner while waiting for Decor/Misc to load up’!), as does CASt, and the game itself runs a lot smoother too. CAS as per usual is still a drag, but still with some notable improvements, even in the dreaded Accessories.

Most important of all, there’s different versions for those playing Sims 3 from disc/PC/Steam and those playing from Origin. Installation is a doddle.

Both of us have been using it for the last few days (Windows 10 appears to show the more dramatic improvements, by the way) and are well pleased.

There’s simple instructions included inside the mod download, suggesting you start on 500 ticks per second and move upwards if you think your computer will gain anything from it (or downwards). Our advice is try between 500 to 1000 first, and play the game several times before getting any bright ideas of going any higher – in other words, make sure you’re appreciating the difference it’s making rather than going mad.

That it’s taking a Sims TWO modder to fix Sims THREE problems EA couldn’t be arsed fixing encapsulates why we never touched Sims FOUR.

Let sweetmeats and angels kisses and fluffy squirrels rain down upon her noble head (but not from too high a starting point, ‘cos that would be painful and fluffy squirrels are a bit squishy on hard surfaces)

Love the straw man about links being ‘generally are not clickable’, as if that makes those which are clickable all go away magically.

Here for the last thirty days is the total number of hits little Billie Bumnugget (or Buffalo Billie as some ‘Silence Of The Lambs’ fan are alluding to her/him/it just now …) has managed to generate from their special block rant post and umpteen links to here – note well exactly where it came from over at the LiveJournal whale of fail is listed – so much for Infragr33n’s claimed ‘generally are not clickable’!

Twenty four in thirty days. All that time, all that effort, and zero f**ks were given by what readership it has left.

As many as we got from Reddit from a link to ourselves posted last February over Delphy’s less than glorious history (we acknowledged the deluge of new readers we got at the time and gave them a bit more info since events had moved on considerably since 2014!). Congratulations Sim Secret on being as relevent as a year old link.

But wait! Surely it would only be fair to compare their relevence over the whole history of The Mare’s Nest. After all, an ‘important’ and ‘well read’ site like Sim Secret must have generated thousands of hits from all their supermarket own brand trollings and links to us over the years.

Let’s see shall we, with a cursory glance at the all time links stats:

No surprise that search engines are on top. But what’s this? No Sim Secret?

Hey look! There’s the old Four Corners Of The World forum (which later became Simpletons), and smug Camimh, queen of the SiManiacs, just ahead of the most successful of all of Comrade Rich’s umpteen thousand forums and all of the posts to us from Reddit. But still no Sim Secret.

Hey look kiddies, there it is; behind Spychip’s blog; Wizard of Smoz’s troll blog; KelleD014’s money begging blog ten years before it became a Simming norm (‘please give me money to pay for my tuition so I don’t have to get a part-time job and can spend all my free time Simming!’ … bloody hell she was ahead of the curve!), the chat forum for Sunnisweetyxoxo; Ruby The Fuzzled, Poida217, Sereniticat2 and occasionally Spychip to air their case for lifetime incarceration in the nearest funny farm; and someone who went off to become a writer and comic artist.

Congratulations Sim Secret, you’re about to catch up with people who left the Simming community ten years ago and over!

And that, best beloved, ought to get the point home to even the most gullible of you out there how little actual traffic Sim Secret gets any more – or for that matter has been getting for some time. They’ve had links to us appearing sporadically since 2014, but that’s what they’ve got to show for it – being of less interest than long abandoned blogs.

All the excuses and mental gymnastics aren’t going to change the fact that Sim Secret has long been a bust flush, and deep down its tiny handful of remaining cranks know it.

 

Speaking of which, at the end of that post and a number of suspiciously similar agreeing ones came a final one from – surprise, surprise! – Infragreen aka Infragr33n aka Trip_Stays_Noided, etc.

This is routine stuff from the little shit. Make an anonymous post of ludicrous conjecture with a thin veneer of factoids, make more posts agreeing with it, then come in right at the end – leaning towards the original post whilst not fully backing it, because Infragreen’s brittle ego couldn’t take the rest of her little troll buds laughing at her and telling her she’s talking crap.

It’s the same chickenshit that Frauline Five used to pull all the time – whom she aspires to be the ‘replacement’ for. Hey, you didn’t think she’d be original, did you?

If you want to know how much Infragreen’s lying here, that last sentence … anyone with even a basic WordPress blog account knows full well that visitor stats by country are standard under the stats section – only a f**king moron can’t see it.

More interesting is that little grammatical howler she makes when she’s lying … appearing in that first ‘anonymous’ post and that last post.

She always splits infinitives when she’s spluttering.

Yep, Il Magnifico Culopepita – Gaia Nicolosi aka Kaiko Mikkusu aka Kyko Micsu appears to be back on the Sims 3 wagon after a rather unusual detour (even for her …)

We like the new logo at the top – not so sure Mad Vlad would approve of himself being ousted to make way for the Communist dictatorship of a certain Italian plumber employed by Nintendo …

She was on surer ground perhaps with her new Simming concept … a gothified Sunset Valley, or Sunset Valley after sunset!

Let’s face it, it can’t be any dafter then Midnight Hollow (‘play in a town where you need lighting mods just to play it!’)
