Two thousand years since Saint Paul’s wrote to St Timothy espousing ‘thou shall be an intolerant bigot!’ in complete contradiction of a certain carpenter from Galilee with a sideline in fishing, public speaking and flash mob catering … and still there’s always someone never happy unless they’ve got their jackboot on the necks of anyone daring not to think exactly like them. Of course the ‘… and I’m not taking criticism,’ may be tongue in cheek, but with those so dogmatically nailing their ideological colours to the mast rather than allowing people to take them as they find them, it is seldom if ever the case.

But we digress.

Now personally we’d say the soundtrack to Sims 3 was better, although a fairer assessment would be to say The Sims, Sims 2 and Sims 3 all had their particular high marks; but the master of all gaming soundtracks perhaps is Jeremy Soule’s Skyrim.

It’s the only game where you’re half way up a mountain and you just go, ‘nah, screw the quest, I’m stopping here for five minutes, because that tune on right now is just so awesome with this view at sunrise!’

But then, you’re either Skyrim or you ain’t …

Suzses Got A Dose Of Ackney To Contend With

At first we were elated by this, then annoyed, but now intrigued.

Long time EA forum member (although not a regular poster) Suszes has unveiled the project she and her friends have dreamed up to create an English country village (as opposed to some urban overspill they just haven’t got round to cutting down all the trees yet!)

Now what they’ve done is hacked around with an emptied version of Riverview, something we don’t really approve of. There’s loads of world creators out there who’d love to create a blank world for lot creators to fill up, instead of plagerising an existing EA world and then uploading it – to say nothing of the dozens of existing fan made worlds just begging to be adopted by some ambitious lot creators.

That said, the lots they have showed so far are mouth watering:

Now this is what we call promising … so much so, we’re tempted to put this in an empty world ourselves … when we get the chance!

Anyway, best of luck to Suszes, Romagi, Sandraelle, Soocoolsim and the others with this project.

Lucky you – we’ve been hearing over in Blighty about the Pflizer not only sounding like some industrial strength Teutonic Wheat Beer, but tending to behave the same way after your second.

As for Ghost (aka Ghost B.C. in Mickeymouseville and Kraftdinnerland), both of us were nonplussed. After a bit of listening, despite the death metal/doom metal tag,they’ve more in common with the non-industrial side of Killing Joke or the more melodic moments of My Chemical Romance (cue Cororon taking out a contract on us) or dare it be suggested Scorpions (!) than having anything to do with the likes of Slipknot or even Marilyn Manson, and despite being dressed like Buffy The Vampire Slayer ‘villains of the week’, they can also sing well, as opposed to the usual Balrog atypical of the genre (see Fields of The Nephilim for ‘worked examples’ of the trope).
